October 8th, 2006 Check out the latest LL Bean Catalog: 2006 Guide To Winter Warmth. Page 36 includes a photograph of me smashing ice off the tower at the Mount Washington Observatory. The same photo was also featured in the fall 2005 issue of Subaru's Drive Magazine.

July 30th, 2006 Please be sure to visit the Darien Library from August 22nd to September 25th. I will be exhibiting a collection of photographs from my winter internship at the Mount Washington Observatory.
February 13th, 2006 The "blizzard" of 2006 just coasted through the area leaving behind record snowfall in Central Park and a hefty dump in Darien, CT. It certainly wasn't the most severe nor'easter, but it did leave behind over 20" of snow. Shortly after being woken up by lightning and thundersnow an intense mesoscale band of snow stalled over coastal Connecticut for 7 hours dumping snow at a rate of 2-4" per hour.
July 19th, 2005 I just returned from a 22 day trip to Bali, Hong Kong and Hanoi. On the island of Bali I surfed in the Indian Ocean at Kuta Beach, spent 3 days on the tranquil Lembongan Island, visited the temple at Tannah Lot, and travelled to the central mountains around Ubud. In Hong Kong I enjoyed the fast paced culture of an ultra-modern city. My short stop in Vietnam was highlighted by a visit to Ho Chi Minh's Masoleum. I also braved the relentless heat and humidity that region is famous for. My trip to Asia involved the second longest flight in the World, non-stop from New York to Bangkok. The 18 hour return flight passed over the Arctic Ocean while noctilucent clouds shined in the upper atmosphere.
December 8th, 2004: Winds reach 133mph on Mount Washington. Sustained winds average above 100mph for 3 hours with one hour at 111. I came within 10 yards of joining the Century Club (a complete, hands free, circumnavigation of the observation deck in 100mph sustained winds) before a 122 mph gust finished off the venture. A second attempt was planned but it took over an hour to catch my breath and lower my heart rate.
