At 6,288 feet Mount Washington not only stands out among New England peaks it stands alone with unique weather. Remarkable riming, heavy snow, and world famous winds make the summit an exciting and dangerous place to visit in the winter.

I spent the winter of 2004-05 living and working on the summit as an intern for the Mount Washington Observatory.

The following photos describe life on the summit.  From days in the fog, adventures around the mountain and everyday life at the observatory.
